FSC wooden Pikler triangle • Nils
Made by woodworkers in Europe
This triangle offers unique support for developing your child's creativity, agility, and motor skills.
Labels LOOVE
This triangle is rooted in the principles of Pikler-Lóczy pedagogy, particularly the principle of free movement.
It offers a unique type of support for developing your child’s creativity, agility, and motor skills.
Children find it the perfect support for free play and an ideal contribution to their “yes space.”
It encourages young children to coordinate their movements as they climb it, thanks to its sturdy rungs adapted to their hands and feet. Even when they are still very young, it can already be used to hang their mobiles from.
Thanks to its adjustable positions, it adapts to children’s abilities and desires, offering them gentler or steeper slopes.
As they grow, it becomes an opportunity to try out new positions, invent new games, and turn it into a tent, a playhouse… And an opportunity for parents to let them move and imagine freely.

What is the educational value of this product?
In Pikler-Lóczy education, children aged 0 to 3 learn to become familiar with their bodies and master their movements. They are allowed to act without intervention in their postures, taking the initiative in their movements: this is the principle of free movement.
The triangle provides children with a unique free-movement aid. They will climb, descend, and use their arms, legs, hands, and feet; in fact, they will engage their entire bodies to coordinate their movements.
For Maria Montessori, repetition plays an essential role in development. Children repeat an activity as long as it interests them, until they master an exercise, activity, or movement. During the sensitive period for movement coordination (approximately from 18 months to 4 years), the triangle offers numerous opportunities for movement: to try, do, and repeat until each movement is mastered.
The Pikler-Lóczy triangle also gives children the opportunity to use it for more than simply supporting their motor development. The concept of free play, so important to Rudolf Steiner, takes shape when they give free rein to their imagination.
What are its benefits from a neuroscience perspective?
- Contributes to sensory-motor development* (*Through coordinating movements and adjusting posture.).
- Strengthens neural circuits through the repetition of movements.
What is sensory-motor development?
Sensory-motor development is the process through which children develop their senses and learn to perform, master, and coordinate their movements.
These senses include the best-known ones - sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch - as well as balance (through the vestibular system) and proprioception (the position of the body in space, provided by the somatosensory system).
These different senses work together with one another and with the motor system.
In terms of motor development, two main categories of motor skills can be distinguished:
- gross motor skills, which refer to movements of the entire body or its larger limbs and muscles (legs, arms, torso, head),
- fine motor skills, which refer to movements involving smaller muscles and limbs (fingers, hands, wrists, feet, ankles, toes, lips, tongue).
What age groups is it suitable for?
The convertible triangle can be actively used as a brachiation ladder from the moment your child begins trying to stand up independently, then in its triangle configuration once they are able to stand, and up to approximately 8 years of age. It can be climbed, used as an indoor slide when combined with its ramp, or turned into a tent, playhouse, and more.
What are the benefits of this product in summary?
- Develop motor skills, particularly movement coordination.
- Learn to be independent.
- Build self-confidence.
