Practical information
- Attention ! Do not open the package box with a knife or sharp object as this could damage the product.
- The foam will return to its original shape within 72 hours of unpacking.
- The display of colors of the item may vary depending on the manufacturer of your screen, its model or its contrast and brightness settings, it is therefore possible that the colors differ slightly between the display on your screen and the actual color of the item. In addition, due to the nature of the velvet but also the brightness of the room, the item may have more or less dark reflections. Trick
To prevent the modules from separating too easily when used by younger children, we advise you to use the course on a mat.
If this is not enough for your family, the covers of the course blocks are removable, it is possible to sew Velcro strips on them. This allows the blocks to be held together in all circumstances and the covers will continue to go through the machine.
What is the educational benefit of this product?
With its playful side, which invites movement, the motor skills course is a tool perfectly suited to play, which gives children the desire to express their inventiveness and exercise their imagination, elements that are so important in active teaching.
As advocated by the Pikler-Lóczy pedagogy, children will develop their motor skills freely, learn to know their body and master their movements. They will multiply different postures by going up, down, climbing, riding, but also by moving the modules that make it up. They will throw themselves on it, in it and learn how to get out of its ball pool.
The motor skills course accompanies children during the sensitive periods of coordination of movements and order, identified by Maria Montessori, which children go through respectively between approximately 18 months and 4 years, and the birth at approximately 6 years.
What is the interest from a neuroscience point of view?

What is sensorimotor development?
Sensorimotor development is the process by which children develop their senses and learn to perform, control and coordinate their movements.
The senses include the best known ones: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, but also balance (thanks to the vestibular system) and proprioception (position of the body in space, given by the somatosensory system).
These different senses work in concert with each other and with the motor system.
In terms of motor development, we can distinguish two main categories of motor skills:
- gross motor skills, which refers to movements of the whole body or the large limbs and muscles of the body (legs, arms, trunk, head),
- fine motor skills, which refers to the movements of smaller muscles and limbs (fingers, hands, wrists, feet, ankles, toes, lips, tongue).
