Adjustable activity desk with boards, 3 heights
This clever desk features a cubby, a chalkboard, a transparent acrylic board, and a roll of drawing paper.
This desk is the perfect support for our young children’s many activities, accompanying them in their moments of creativity and concentration, their cognitive development, and their discovery of textures and senses.
In its original configuration, it has a space on the left for the roll of paper supplied with the desk, and modular storage on the right that can be arranged to create a set of up to 8 cube-shaped containers where children can keep their pens, pencils, chalk, paintbrushes, cups, as well as toys, building blocks, boxes of modeling clay, and more.
In the center is the tabletop, where you can unroll the paper or place notebooks or books. When opened, it reveals a blackboard underneath, facing your child, and a storage compartment topped with a removable, tilting transparent acrylic board.
This open configuration offers children countless possibilities: they can draw with chalk on the blackboard or use an erasable marker on the transparent board, which also gives them the opportunity to paint with their fingers, draw with sand or flour, and more.
By lifting or removing the acrylic board, children can use the compartment to store their belongings or as an activity bin for building, modeling, sculpting, working with different natural materials, or any other activity that sparks their curiosity, entertains them, and gives them the chance to do things on their own, independently.
To let them enjoy their desk for as long as possible, it can be adjusted as they grow.

Manufacturing partner
For Inga, it all began by observing children and remembering her own childhood. The joy of playing with simple objects and discovering treasures, but also the frustration of being unable to reach things because you’re too small, saying goodbye to objects you love because you’ve outgrown them, or having to accept that you can’t do certain activities indoors, such as playing with sand, because the environment isn’t suitable.
The idea then emerged to create equipment that allows children to express themselves, dream, play, draw, create, learn and master new skills, alone or together. A project that came to fruition in 2018, giving rise to healthy, ingenious equipment made locally in Latvia, designed to be ergonomic, support children’s development at their own pace, and grow with them.
What is the educational value of this product?
At their desk, your child focuses on creative, playful activities and can come and go, engaging in them independently.
Independent activities are central to the educational approaches of Emmi Pikler, as well as those of Maria Montessori, Loris Malaguzzi, Célestin Freinet and Rudolf Steiner, to name just a few.
The desk will support your child’s self-expression through games, crafts or art (knitting, modeling, building games, painting, embroidery, etc.), which are key educational activities, particularly in the Steiner Waldorf, Reggio Emilia and Freinet approaches.
Here, your child will discover writing and mathematics, as well as reading, particularly through living books, which were dear to Charlotte Mason and will nurture their imagination.
It will also be a place where your child can learn and repeat tasks at their own pace until they master them, through activities designed to develop their executive functions and certain specific skills (particularly in the Montessori approach).
What is its value from a neuroscience perspective?
- Contributes to sensory-motor and cognitive development* (*Through practicing tasks that require precision - painting, salt dough, cutting, writing, etc. - as well as thought and concentration to solve problems).
- Strengthens neural circuits through the repetition of movements and tasks.
What is sensory-motor development?
Sensory-motor development is the process through which children develop their senses and learn to perform, master and coordinate their movements.
The senses include the best-known ones, namely sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch, as well as balance (through the vestibular system) and proprioception (the position of the body in space, provided by the somatosensory system).
These different senses work together and in coordination with the motor system.
In terms of motor development, two main categories of motor skills can be distinguished:
- gross motor skills, which refer to movements of the entire body or its larger limbs and muscles (legs, arms, torso, head),
- fine motor skills, which refer to movements involving smaller muscles and limbs (fingers, hands, wrists, feet, ankles, toes, lips, tongue).
What is cognitive development?
Cognitive development is the process through which children acquire, organize and learn to use knowledge. Cognitive skills are numerous and varied, and are orchestrated by executive functions. They include, among other things, language, goal-directed behavior, planning, cognitive flexibility, short-term memory (or working memory), long-term memory, the ability to avoid being distracted, the ability to control emotional reactions, etc.
What age range is it suitable for?
This adjustable desk grows with your child and supports many activities - such as painting, drawing, salt dough, building games, etc. It is a place your child will make their own, where they can later learn to read, write and do mathematics, and it can be used until around the age of 10.
What is the value of this product in summary?
- Learn to be independent.
- Encourage their imagination and creativity.
- Contribute to their cognitive and sensory-motor development, as well as their discovery of textures.
