For a child, the rocker is an invitation to the imagination. And for parents, proof that children's creativity has no limits.
On the one hand, it has the obvious benefit of helping children develop and master their balance and proprioception by adapting their posture to the movements of their rocker.
On the other hand, it offers them the possibility of inventing stories and creating scenarios. They will use it as a cradle or swing for their babies, then as a cabin or climbing frame by turning it over. Placed on its side, they will transform it into a store display or even a work surface.
The rocker goes further than offering a tool for free motor skills, it is a support for free play for our children, alone or combined with other toys, according to their desires.
The rocker is also designed to be safe. Its slats provide a solid surface, where children can support themselves without risk of getting their feet trapped. Its integrated side handles are designed to protect their fingers.

Manufacturing partner
The company of Sabine is focused on children, but just as importantly on the time they spend with their families. Among the many lessons of active pedagogies, one of the main ones is that children develop best when they are both happy and autonomous. It was from their home in Latvia that Sabine and her family embraced these principles, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Maria Montessori and Emmi Pikler to create something unique. Drawing on a family spirit and a tradition of carpentry, they handcraft safe furniture, which helps children develop through movement while spending time with their loved ones, and always having fun.
What is the educational benefit of this product?
The rocker is ideally suited to open play and imaginative imitation, central elements of Steiner Waldorf pedagogy, and allows the child to make uses of it which are limited only by their imagination .
This opportunity to play and explore freely is the foundation of Alexander Neill's pedagogy, based on the idea of giving children space and time, without intervention or participation from adults.
In addition, its qualities of supporting the development of balance and proprioception make it the ideal tool for learning to control your body through the repetition of movements, as advocated by the Pikler-Lóczy pedagogy. >.
Its use is perfect during the sensitive period of coordination of movements identified by Maria Montessori, and which children go through between approximately 18 months and 4 years.
What is the interest from a neuroscience point of view?
- Participation in sensorimotor development* (*Through movement, balance and proprioception)
- Strengthening neural circuits through repetition of movements.
What is sensorimotor development?
Sensorimotor development is the process by which children develop their senses and learn to perform, control and coordinate their movements.
The senses include the best known ones: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, but also balance (thanks to the vestibular system) and proprioception (position of the body in space, given by the somatosensory system).
These different senses work in concert with each other and with the motor system.
In terms of motor development, we can distinguish two main categories of motor skills:
- gross motor skills, which refers to movements of the whole body or the large limbs and muscles of the body (legs, arms, trunk, head),
- fine motor skills, which refers to the movements of smaller muscles and limbs (fingers, hands, wrists, feet, ankles, toes, lips, tongue).
What age groups is it suitable for?
The rocker can be used from birth until approximately 12 years old. It can be used to balance, swing, climb and serve as a slide by combining it with its ramp, or even be transformed into a tent, cabin, counter, etc.
What is the point of this product in summary?
