Manufacturing partner

For Inga, it all began with observing children and reminiscing about her own childhood. The joy of playing with simple objects and discovering treasures, but also the frustration of not being able to reach certain things because of our height, or having to accept that we couldn’t play certain games indoors for lack of suitable equipment.

The idea arose to design equipment that allows children to express themselves, dream, play, draw, create, learn, and master skills alone or with others. The project began in 2018, bringing to life healthy, ingenious furniture made locally in Latvia, designed ergonomically to support a child’s development at their own pace and grow with them.

What is the educational value of this product?

In Pikler-Lóczy education, children aged 0 to 3 learn to become familiar with their bodies and master their movements. They are allowed to act without intervention in their postures and take the initiative in their movements: this is the principle of free movement. 

The triangle provides children with a unique free-movement aid. They will climb up and down, using their arms, legs, hands, and feet, and in fact their entire bodies to coordinate their movements.

For Maria Montessori, repetition plays an essential role in development. Children repeat an activity as long as it interests them, until they master an exercise, activity, or movement. During the sensitive period for movement coordination (from approximately 18 months to 4 years), the triangle offers numerous opportunities for movement, allowing children to try, do, and repeat until they master each movement.

The Pikler-Lóczy triangle also gives children the opportunity to make it more than a simple movement aid. The concept of free play, which was dear to Rudolf Steiner, takes shape when they give free rein to their imagination.

What are the benefits from a neuroscience perspective?

What is sensorimotor development?

Sensorimotor development is the process through which children develop their senses and learn to perform, master, and coordinate their movements.

The senses include the best-known ones: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, as well as balance (through the vestibular system) and proprioception (the position of the body in space, provided by the somatosensory system). 

These different senses work together and in conjunction with the motor system.

In terms of motor development, two main categories of motor skills can be distinguished:

• gross motor skills, which refer to movements of the entire body or its larger limbs and muscles (legs, arms, torso, head),
• fine motor skills, which refer to movements of smaller muscles and limbs (fingers, hands, wrists, feet, ankles, toes, lips, tongue).

What age groups is it suitable for?

The 4-in-1 adjustable triangle can be actively used as a brachiation bar from the moment your child tries to stand up independently, then as a triangle once they are able to stand, and up to approximately 8 years of age. It can be climbed, transformed into a play prop for pretend play, used as a mobile, serve as an indoor slide when combined with its ramp, become a motor-skills course, or even a tent, playhouse, etc.

Returns 

Have you received your item but it is not suitable for you? Don’t worry, you have 14 days from the date you receive your package to return the product concerned. 

As a small family business, we are unfortunately not yet able to cover postage costs. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and returns must be sent to the country from which this product was shipped, Latvia.

To be eligible for a return, please ensure that the following conditions are met :

• The product must arrive in its original and complete condition (packaging, accessories, instructions).
• The request must not concern custom-made products for which the customer provided personalization details (for example, a cutting or manufacturing dimension).

Please understand that we cannot accept assembled, used, or worn items, as they cannot be resold.
