Description

This handcrafted refrigerator was designed with the desire to fulfill a dual function: to contribute to the child's development and to offer them a healthy and sustainable alternative for their imitation games.

It includes two shelves to provide three storage heights. Our children will thus be able to store their ingredients, but also their containers, dishes, pans and pots, as well as their cutlery and utensils, fake during their imitation games or real when they help us with daily kitchen tasks.

They will learn what we put in the fridge and freezer, and why, contributing both to their learning of the notions of conservation and permanence of the object, as well as to getting into the habit of tidying up while developing their sense of order.

The wooden refrigerator contributes, in the same way as other accessories found in the house such as the stove, the oven, the dinette, the DIY workshop, etc., to the construction of the identity of our future adults.

With their refrigerator, they reproduce scenes from their daily lives, reproduce the gestures and habits of their parents and the adults around them, participate in the life of the house, learn to play with others, and thus assimilate the rules, the codes and social roles, contributing to their socio-emotional development. What is the educational benefit of this product?

Imitation games are part of childhood and the construction of identity. Rudolf Steiner also defines the first cycle of childhood, between 0 and 7 years, as that of imitation - during which he goes from being one with his mother to that of a social and autonomous individual, and where imaginative imitation will hold a determining place in the same way as open play.

It is through imitation play that the child will reproduce the behaviors he observes around him, from simple imitation to the creation of complex scenarios and role-playing games in which he is no longer the actor. principal but the director.

What age groups is it suitable for?

The refrigerator is used from the moment the child starts to tidy up, from around 12 months.
